Founder & Team Leader
Byamukama was born and raised in Ibanda District in Western Uganda and educated at Makerere University for his undergraduate studies. He is currently doing his Master of Divinity Program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton MA, USA. He previously served as a Discipleship Teacher at Makerere Community Church at Makerere University Kampala, and as a Bible Teacher at Calvary Chapel Bible College Kampala. He also serves with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries in Uganda.
His call to the ministry of Discipleship and Apologetics in the African context has been gradual and growing as he served in the local church. In a world increasingly getting skeptical about faith, Byamukama senses a growing hunger in Africa for the truth that unfadingly satisfies. Believers, therefore, ought to be equipped with the essential biblical interpretive skills to enable them to discern and defend the faith once for all delivered to the saints. But they should be as well taught on how to share the Faith to those who may even find it repulsive, in a growingly pluralistic context. The Church in Uganda will have to learn to answer the cultural identity questions raised by Uganda’s colonial history. She must respond to questions about the exclusivity of Christ in a plethora of religions pressing on her doors.
It is this reality that caused Joseph to seek further training. The same awareness of this need caused him to start Veracity Fount as a ministry whose aim is to provide a conducive conversational environment for both the discipleship of those who confess Christ and the evangelism of those who are still skeptical towards the Christian Faith. He believes that African Christians must respond to the questions unique to the African context, without losing the catholicity of the Faith.
Joseph is married to Daphne Byamukama and they both currently live in South Hamilton Massachusetts USA.
